About Radikon Slatnik
Radikon Slatnik is a wood-aged orange wine made by the Radikon winery in Oslavia (Italy), in the IGT Venezia Giulia.
Radikon Slatnik is grown in the hills of San Floriano, very close to the Isonzo river and the Slovenian border. This area, with a very unique microclimate, is where the Radikon family cultivate their 12 hectares with a mineral soil, known as ponca. No sulphites have been used on this land since 2003.
Radikon Slatnik is the result of a very careful process where only the best grapes, harvested by hand and in wooden crates, are vinified. After destemming, the grapes are macerated for 10 days in wooden vats until spontaneous fermentation begins. Once the process has finished, the wine rests for 18 months in French oak barrels and two years in the bottle.
Radikon Slatnik is a complex wine, recommended for palates already familiar with macerated white wines.
2021 | Radikon Slatnik 2021 is an orange wine that impresses with its subtly full-bodied character and moderately aromatic profile. On the nose, it stands out for its notes of ripe fruits such as peach and orange, accompanied by a spicy touch that adds complexity. On the palate, it feels balanced, with a refreshing acidity and an enveloping texture. Its barrel aging imparts a unique depth and a lingering finish that invites continued enjoyment. |
|
2018 | Radikon Slatnik 2018 has fruity aromas, most notably of apricot. It also reveals a strong contrast on the palate, with a persistent and salty character, with certain tannic and mineral notes. |
|
2016 | Radikon Slatnik 2016 is an exceedingly aromatic and fruity orange wine, which on the nose exudes scents reminiscent of peaches and apricots. Upon tasting, it reveals depth and sophistication, displaying a delicate salinity alongside mineral undertones and discernible tannins. |
