Petit Caus Rosat is a rosé wine produced by the winery Can Ràfols dels Caus in D.O. Penedès.
The winery is located in Avinyonet del Penedès (Barcelona), right within the mountain range Massís del Garraf.
Petit Caus Rosat is a full coupage of the varieties Merlot, Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernat Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The vineyards are planted on clay-calcareous soils. Their cultivation is performed using organic procedures, and no insecticides and pesticides are used.
The harvest is carried out entirely manually.
When the grapes arrive at the winery, they go through the maceration and the fermentation, each variety separately, in stainless steel deposits for 23 days.
A young, fruity and very fresh wine.

Can Ràfols dels Caus is Carlos Esteva, one of the few winemakers who live on the farm and strive to achieve their objectives, respecting the characteristics of the landscape and the architecture of the place in a sustainable framework. Harvest after harvest, in Can Ràfols dels Caus they experiment with different wines and varieties with the aim of making wines with a good ageing capacity, but fine, natural, elegant and with personality, which simultaneously show the fruit, the soil and the personality of the producer.
Pictures and situation Can Ràfols dels Caus
Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.
