Noval Colheita

Noval Colheita is a long aging port wine coupage made with the region’s native grapes by Quinta do Noval, in the Douro Valley, Portugal.

Quinta do Noval is a Portuguese winery dating back to 1715 and a leading producer and exporter of quality Vinho do Porto. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the estate was devastated by the phylloxera plague, but they managed to save two hectares of vineyards, which are now used to make the most desirable and sought after port wine in the world.

Noval Colheita is the full expression of Tawny-style ports that come from a particular harvest with the date indicated on the bottle. Colheitas wines stay in the barrel from the beginning and are bottled just before being released for sale, with their personality being defined by the year of harvest. These wines are becoming more and more rare. Noval Colheita ages for a minimum of 10 years in oak barrels.
