Muga El Andén de la Estación is a wood-aged red wine made by Bodegas Muga with the Tempranillo variety in the D.O.Ca. Rioja.
Muga is a famous winery in the D.O.Ca. Rioja founded by Isaac Muga Martínez in 1932. It can be found in the Barrio de la Estación area of Haro, which is right at the heart of this winemaking region. Muga is large family winery that now has 200 hectares of their own vineyards managed the third generation of the Muga family with the same personality and character as there has always been.
Muga El Andén de la Estación comes from vineyards nestled in the foothills of the Montes Obarenes, in the heart of Rioja Alta. These vines are planted on tertiary clay-calcareous soils and when they reach 15 years of age, the berries are used to make the great Muga Reserva wine. The grapes are traditionally cultivated and harvested at the optimum point of ripeness.
One of the few Spanish wineries with its own cooperage, Muga El Andén de la Estación macerates and ferments in the company’s own large wooden barrels. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for a minimum of 14 months in used oak barrels.
Muga El Andén de la Estación is a cuvée of young vines made by one of the leading wineries in the D.O.Ca. Rioja. A La Rioja Alta classic with exceptional value for money.
