About Monteabellón Verdejo

As the entire world held its breath at the dawn of the year 2000, with boundless expectations for the new millennium, the García family chose instead to focus on the land and cultivate the future in their own way. With the turn of the era, Bodegas Monteabellón was born: a family venture deeply rooted in centuries of winemaking tradition, dedicated to the challenge of bottling the landscape. The same courage and expertise accumulated in Ribera del Duero now breathe life into their Monteabellón Verdejo, a white wine that proves when passion is genuine, it knows no borders and can capture the freshest and most vibrant expression of one of Spain's most cherished white varieties.
 
The secret of its abundant freshness can be traced directly to the iconic D.O. Rueda, where the vineyards are situated at a commanding altitude of 750 metres above sea level. The verdejo vines thrive on sandy-loam soils scattered with abundant pebbles, a perfect canvas under a continental climate that stretches the cool nights to preserve acidity. The meticulous care in the vineyard translates into precision viticulture that favours low yields, ensuring each cluster concentrates the purest, most noble, and indigenous essence of the variety.
 
In the winery, the process seeks to cherish the fruit's primary aromas without interference from oak. The must undergoes a precise and clean fermentation in stainless steel tanks under strict thermal control, allowing the grape to express itself freely. After a brief rest to settle its structure, the wine is bottled to capture that youthful immediacy, ensuring the profile retains its vigour, clarity, and an enveloping expressiveness on the palate.
