Mía Freixenet Blanco is a white wine produced by Freixenet in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, D.O. Penedés.

Freixenet is one of the most popular cava brands. Its history goes back to 1961, when the Sala family started to produce still wines. However, it was not until 1911, when the heiress of Casa Sala married the youngest of the Ferrer de la Freixeda family, that they started to make sparkling wines using the traditional method, like the one used for Champagne. In 1914, the first bottle of sparkling wine is launched on the market, under the brand Freixenet.

Currently, Freixenet is a winemaking group with more than 20 brands around Spain, France, United States, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Australia. They have a production of more than 114 million bottles per year, and they export to more than 150 countries.

Mía Freixenet Blanco is a wine made from Maccabeu, Xarello, Parellada and Muscatel.

Once the grapes are harvested, they are destemmed and pressed. Then, they ferment in stainless steel deposits with temperature control. It is not aged, in any way, before it is bottled.

Mía Freixenet Blanco is a fruity, light and refreshing wine. A classic wine of Penedés, made with grapes that are typical from the area. Slightly fruitier thanks to the Muscatel. Ideal for the aperitif or on its own.

The world-famous winery Freixenet is located in the heart of the Penedès, in the seventies and was one of the most prestigious brands nationally and internationally, reaching number one in the production of sparkling wine by the traditional system. Winery has a great old what he brings experience and prestige. Already in the 70s and is a company Freixenet entirely stable.
Pictures and situation Freixenet
Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.
