About Marqués de Murrieta Capellanía
Marqués de Murrieta Capellanía is a white wine from the D.O Rioja produced by Marqués de Murrieta.
The winery, located in Logroño, is one of the oldest in Spain, dating back to 1852 when Luciano de Murrieta began to produce and sell the first wines from La Rioja.
Marqués de Murrieta Capellanía is made exclusively using Viura grapes. The grapes come from ancient vineyards, from vines planted in 1945. The vineyards are located at an altitude of around 485m, one of the highest points of the Ygay estate.
The production of Marqués de Murrieta Capellanía begins with the harvest, which is carried out manually, in September. Once at the winery, the bunches are slowly and lightly pressed, which helps extract the best aromas of the wine.
Following this, the juice is left to ferment in Stainless Steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 10º C. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 15 months in 225litre capacity new French oak barrels.
We recommend that you allow the wine to aerate one hour before serving.

|
2014 | Marqués de Murrieta Capellanía 2014 is a mature, structured and creamy white wine. A good vintage where the aromas of white fruit blend perfectly with the toasted notes of aging, and notes of spices, vanilla and nuts. On the palate it is glyceride, full and fleshy, with a very lingering and persistent finish. | |

2009 | Exhibits a robust and dynamic entry. Expansive and velvety, delivering excellent vivacity and acidity. The wood notes are discernible yet do not overshadow the fruit. A distinguished white wine. Golden yellow. Clear and luminous. Dense tears. The bouquet is dominated by floral scents and white fruit (pear) aromas, impeccably harmonized with the toasted nuances contributed by no less than 20 months of aging in oak barrels. |
|
2006 | Great, elegant wine with a perfect, long, delicious, dry and unctuous structure. It has lots of volume, and the wooden and fruity aromas are much more balanced than in the nose. Excellent acidity. Some touches of liquor. Very long and persistent finish with hints of fruit.
A pleasant, elegant and seductive wine. Intense and very attractive golden yellow colour. Clean and bright wine with dense tears. Good intensity, complex and serious aromas. From the begining, the wooden notes appear along with elegant toasted touches which remain present during its evolution. After aerating the wine, its light smoky notes, its hints of nuts are released along with some creamy spices and some milky touches with notes of ripe white fruit (pear), citrus and some tropical nuances. In the background, a curious and subtle saline and mineral touch is noticed. |
|
2005 | Excellent wine with very good, large and intense attack. Its notes of fruit, vanilla and toasted are very present and powerful. Very tasty and smooth mid palate. Very good acidity that balances the freshness. Long and lingering aftertaste.
A pleasant, elegant and seductive wine. Golden yellow. Clean and bright. Glyceric. Intense and complex aromas with a good presence of wood along with white fruit and white flowers. When it finally opens up, the wine gains in intensity and its notes of vanilla and citrus are displayed with a sweety and milky touch. Light mineral touches. |
|
