About Antinori Tenuta Tignanello Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva
When it comes to choosing a wine, some people pick by the label, the brand, the origin or the price. But there are also those who choose by the sound of the name. There are some family names that are strongly linked to wine. Generations that seem to have wine in their blood and whose legacy is synonymous with tradition, history and continuity. Primum Familiae Vini was created following these classic values, and is now one of the tightest and most select groups in the world of wine, whose members come from winemaking families with a combined 2,500 years of experience. Within this select private club is Marchese Antinori, one of Italy’s most representative winemaking families, with 26 generations dedicated to wine and the protagonist of some of the country’s most prestigious wines. Under the management of Marquis Piero Antinori and his three daughters Albiera, Allegra and Alessia, they produce unique wines that combine tradition and modernity. As Marques himself likes to say, “ancestral roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our spirit of innovation.”
One of their historic wines is undoubtedly Antinori Tenuta Tignanello Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva. A red wine made with Sangiovese grapes and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon from an estate called Tignanello in the heart of Chianti Classico, in the hills between the Greve and Pesa river valleys. A total of 130 hectares of vineyards divided into small individual plots and with soils characterised by being composed of marine marl rich in limestone and schist. In the winery, the grapes are carefully selected and destemmed to begin vinification in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels before being bottled.
Antinori Tenuta Tignanello Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva is a superb Chianti Classico Riserva that highlights the class and quality of the Tuscan Sangiovese. A wine with character and territorial identity that highlights the classic premises of the prestigious Primum Familiae Vini.
