Marcel Deiss Gewürztraminer is a biodynamic white wine made with the Gewürztraminer variety by Marcel Deiss in the AOC Alsace.
Marcel Deiss is considered to be one of the best winemakers in Alsace. With 27 hectares of vineyards spread over 9 areas, they cultivate every one of the denomination’s native varieties. They give the terroir centre stage, seeking to bring out its full expression through environmentally-friendly cultivation.
Marcel Deiss Gewürztraminer comes from vineyards planted in calcareous and clay soils. They use organic farming methods with biodynamic or organic treatments (Ecocert and Demeter Certificate). The harvest is carried out when the grapes are perfectly dehydrated, when they have been affected by “noble rot”.
In the winery, the Marcel Deiss Gewürztraminer clusters go through a slow and prolonged pressing process. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages on fine lees for 12 months.
Marcel Deiss Gewürztraminer is a biodynamic white wine that has a surprisingly high level of fruity complexity. A powerful and subtle nose that brings elegance.
