About Maison Orcia Côtes du Rhône Blanc Bio
Storytelling. This is really what Jean-Philippe Manches likes to do. He is a new generation winemaker who, trained at the Suze la Rousse wine university in Drôme (France) and created a family brand of spirits known as Alkymia. In 2016, he decided to make his own wines at the Maison Orcia in the most important French wine regions. Elegant, high quality and affordable wines that truly tell the story of the place where they are made.
Maison Orcia Côtes du Rhône Blanc Bio is a white wine produced in the prestigious AOC Côtes du Rhône, in the Rhône. A blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Carignan from 40-year-old vines planted in clay-limestone soils facing south and protected by valleys. Organic agriculture is used and Jean-Philippe’s close relationship with his winegrowing partners allows him to have extensive control of the vineyard at all times. Then, in the winery, the grapes are selected and destemmed and undergo cold pressing. The resulting must then undergoes alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks. This is where the wine stays for a period of time on its own lees before bottling.
As the house’s own slogan says, Maison Orcia Côtes du Rhône Blanc Bio is a tailor-made winemaking experience. A white wine full of vivacity and freshness that takes you to the charming Rhone Valley, one of the flagships of French viticulture.
2020 | Maison Orcia Côtes du Rhône Blanc Bio 2020 is a white wine with aromas of ripe white fruit, citrus and exotic fruit. The palate is direct, fresh and lively. A wine with energetic acidity, a very pleasant mid-palate and a finish that is sweet and fresh at the same time. |
