Louis Jadot Coteaux Bourguignons is a red wine coupage of Pinot Noir and Gamay made by Louis Jadot and qualified as an AOC Coteaux-Bourguignons.
Louis Jadot is one of the great Burgundy wineries working exclusively in the area. It was founded in 1859. Its labels are notable for featuring the face of the Greek god Bacchus. The winery founded its own cooperage in 1995 to make barrels for aging its wines.
Coteaux Bourguignons is a marriage between Beaujolais and Burgundy. This new Apellation covers the Grande Bourgogne, Auxerrois and Beaujolais areas. Pinot Noir, Gamay, Chardonnay and Aligoté are the varieties than can be used, as well as some other native varieties. The
Louis Jadot Coteaux Bourguignons is a mix of Gamay from granite soils and Pinot Noir from clay-limestone soils. It is fermented and aged in stainless steel vats to preserve the full fruit and freshness that the grape offers. Each variety is vinified separately and the coupage is made shortly before bottling.
