Le Clos des Grillons Terres Blanches Vieilles Vignes is an organic and natural, barrel-aged red wine made by Le Clos des Grillons with the Syrah and Garnacha Tinta varieties in the Rhone, France.
Le Clos des Grillons is the personal project of Nicolas Renaud, a former history and geography university professor, who decided to leave his job in 2005 and completely focus on what he loves most: winemaking. With a total of 14 hectares around Rochefort du Gard (Rhône), he began a new stage in his life, cultivating organic vineyards and making wines without additives. As a result, he produces some of the most wonderful natural wines.
Le Clos des Grillons Terres Blanches Vieilles Vignes comes from 25-year-old Garnacha vines planted in mainly sand and silt soils. The vineyards are certified organic, with biodynamic treatments used to achieve the natural balance of the terroir. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Le Clos des Grillons Terres Blanches Vieilles Vignes meticulously selected grapes undergo a carbonic maceration to begin with, then the wine ages in neutral oak barrels for 6 months. The wine is racked and bottled by gravity and without any additives.
Le Clos des Grillons Terres Blanches Vieilles Vignes is a light, juicy and easy to drink red wine. Natural fruitiness and delicacy.
