Highly recommended.” This is how Brandy 1866 Gran Reserva was described by The International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) judges Joel Harrison, Barry McCaurgley, Caroline Roddis and Timothy Falzon at the awards ceremony where it was presented with the Grape Brandy Trophy 2022, which certifies it as the Best Brandy in the world.
At Osborne, the company that produces it in Spain’s Jerez region, they consider Brandy 1866 Gran Reserva a masterpiece. It is made from the distillation, in old copper stills, of selected wines that are subsequently aged in sherry casks that have been the birthplace of the winery’s best fine wines.
This aging takes place using a unique, unprecedented system made up of 16 levels, or criaderas. A process with more than one hundred years of history that creates a smooth brandy of great aromatic complexity and with a special salinity in the mouth, characteristics that have made it worthy of such distinguished recognition.
