La Salada El Pagès Content orange is an ecological and natural wine, macerated with skins, made with the Macabeo and Parellada varieties by Celler la Salada in Pla del Penedès (Catalonia).
Toni Carbó is the son, grandson and great-grandson of winegrowers from Penedès, and he is now keeping the family legacy going in Las Parellades, El Pla del Penedès (Alt Penedès). He is a leading producer of the increasingly popular natural wine, using native varieties, organic farming and minimal intervention.
The La Salada El Pagès Content orange wine comes from old vines planted in clay-calcareous soil. Organic agriculture is used to maintain the natural balance in the forest. Chemicals are not used and the nutrients are extracted from the plants themselves. When the grape reaches optimum ripeness, the harvest is carried out manually in small boxes.
In the winery the La Salada El Pagès Content orange grapes macerate for two weeks without being destemmed. They then ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in cement vats for 6 months. The wine is bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphur.
La Salada El Pagès Content orange is a white wine macerated with skins that is made as a tribute to the winegrowers of times gone by. An authentic wine made with a lot of love and minimal intervention.
