Krug Grande Cuvée Edition 172th

Champagne. 7 3 años en botella sin degüelle.
Champagne Krug Grande Cuvée Edition 172th presents itself with an alluring deep golden-yellow hue. On the nose, it offers an elegant blend of white flowers, lavender, and almonds, inviting one to savour its delicacy. Upon tasting, it reveals a refined yet intense profile, with a long and refreshing finish. White fruits, such as pear and apple, stand out alongside citrus notes. Subtle floral nuances and a hint of eucalyptus and menthol contribute to a complexity that renders it remarkably mature.

About Krug Grande Cuvée Edition 172th
Making the best champagne every year, regardless of the weather. This is the philosophy behind Krug Grande Cuvée, an excellent champagne that is always very high quality and goes beyond the traditional notion of vintages.
The man behind this work was Josehp Krug, who founded the winery in Reims, in the A.O.C. Champagne (northwest France). This is the area, with its humid, coastal climate, where Krug decided to make his dream reality, among the clay, the soft soil that is so characteristic of this area. The vines grow easily in these soils thanks to its drainage and water retention. The rest of his plan centred around blending different vintages - in some cases up to 20 - to achieve excellence and supreme quality. The fermentation of the base wine in oak (this house’s hallmark) together with the seven years of aging in the winery make Krug Grande Cuvée a luxury that emerges every year whether it rains, snows or is windy.

Krug Grande Cuvée 170th Edition is a blend of 146 different wines made over 11 years (from 2000 to 2013). This blending produces a very fine champagne, with floral and fruity aromas (citrus) and hints of marzipan and gingerbread. On the palate the flavours of almond paste, quince, lemon and nuts stand out. |
