Jean-Marie Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses is a red cask-aged wine made by Jean-Marie Fourrier with the Pinot Noir variety in the AOC Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru in Burgundy (France).
Since 1994, Jean-Marie Fourrier, a winegrower with a family tradition in the Gevrey-Chambertin region of Burgundy, has been implementing his own approach to vineyard management and winemaking based on knowledge acquired from Henry Jayer and Domaine Drouhin. A meticulous work which allows us to obtain fruity wines with great expression of the place.
Jean-Marie Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses comes from vineyards located in one of the three main villages which form the "hard core" of the Côte de Nuits, in Chambolle-Musigny. Some 5.4 hectares considered by experts as a Grand Cru for its category which express the true red heart of Burgundy. To do this, Jean-Marie Fourrier applies environmentally-friendly agriculture with a massive selection and rejection of any chemical additives.
In the cellar, the Jean-Marie Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses grapes are macerated with a very gentle extraction and fermented with native yeasts and as little sulphur as possible. The wine then undergoes an 18-month maturation process in oak barrels, 20% of which is new wood.
Jean-Marie Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses is a deliciously delicate red wine from one of Burgundy's great vineyards. A red burgundy which can only get better with time.
