There are decisions that alter the destiny of an entire region. In 1881, guided solely by his own intuition, Félix Azpilicueta decided to restore a small family vineyard in the locality of Fuenmayor, in the heart of Rioja Alta. What began as a personal dream evolved, over the decades, into one of the great benchmarks of Spanish wine.
 
From the heart of the DOCa Rioja, Félix Azpilicueta Crianza is a red wine stemming from a meticulous selection of plots at Finca Fuenmayor, a vineyard with varied altitudes and a rich blend of clay-limestone soils. The grapes are sourced from old vineyards over 25 years old, enjoying a climate with both Atlantic and Mediterranean influences. The blend balances three traditional varieties: tempranillo, which contributes the typicity of the fruit; graciano, responsible for providing structure and ageing potential; and mazuelo, which imparts a lively, fresh acidity.
 
In the dimness of the winery, the process unfolds calmly and naturally. Félix Azpilicueta Crianza absorbs color upon contact with its skins before seeking the silence of the wood. There it rests for twelve months in American and French oak barrels, absorbing subtle spicy and vanilla nuances, and completes its final softening over half a year in the bottle.
