About Els Pics
Els Pics is a red wine made by Bodegas Mas Alta in the Priorat. The winery is located in Vilella Alta, a municipality in the province of Tarragona.
Els Pics is a blend of Grenache and Carignan varieties, with small percentages of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from vineyards planted on slate soils.
For processing, a fermentation which lasts two weeks is performed, in which gradually the temperature is increased. Subsequently, a post-fermentation maceration takes place.
Finally, Els Pics is aged for 12 months in cement tanks and then aged in French oak.
