About Domaine de La Janasse Côtes-du-Rhône
Domaine de La Janasse Côtes-du-Rhône is a red wine coupage of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cariñena, Syrah and Cinsault. It belongs to the AOC Côtes-du-Rhône and is produced by Domaine de la Janesse.
Domaine de La Janasse is a family winery founded in 1973 and located in Courthézon. It started out with 15 hectares and currently has about 90. It is considered one of the gems of Châteuneuf-du-Pape.
The vineyards for Domaine de La Janasse Côtes-du-Rhône are cultivated without the use of pesticides, herbicides or insecticides. The average yields are 46 hectolitres per hectare, and the harvest is carried out manually. Once in the winery, 80% of the harvest is destemmed and macerated for a period of 12 to 15 days. Lastly, the wine undergoes ageing for 6 to 9 months in foudres. In the wine the Grenache predominates, with the Mourvèdre and the Syrah playing a secondary role, and the Cinsault providing the final touch.
Domaine de La Janasse Côtes-du-Rhône is a sweet and amiable wine that is very good value for money.
