About Derain Bourgogne Blanc La Combe

Derain Bourgogne Blanc La Combe is a natural monovarietal Chardonnay white wine from the AOC Bourgogne produced by Dominique Derain.

Dominique Derain is a small producer in Burgundy who owns small parcels in various denominations and cultivates them following the principles of biodynamics.

Derain Bourgogne Blanc La Combe comes from a 30 year old plot in the prestigious town of Puligny-Montrachet, in the south of Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy. The production of this wine is very limited since the grape comes from a vineyard of less than one third of a hectare. It is fermented with native yeasts and is aged on lees for up to 8 months in the barrels where it has also fermented. Only 1,800 bottles of Derain Bourgogne Blanc La Combe are produced.

Derain Bourgogne Blanc La Combe is quite a meaty Chardonnay but finer than its older brother. Very pleasant on the palate, it is creamy and with fresh fruit.
2016 Derain Bourgogne Blanc La Combe 2016 is a wine with aromas of white stone fruit, white flowers and citrus fruit accompanied by mineral notes. On the palate it is elegant and clean and the notes perceived on the nose reappear.
