Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Dehesa Gago is a red wine from D.O. Toro produced by Telmo Rodríguez, a winery that only uses local varieties from original areas, a philosophy that contrasts the boom of the introduction of foreign varieties in Spain.
This wine is a single variety Tinta de Toro (100%) grown on leased vines that are planted in a pot on sandy soil and gravel terraces. As for the production, there is a fermentation in local yeast in cement and stainless steel vats and then an aging in cement vats for 4 to 6 months.

Dehesa Gago is a wine that stands out for its excellent price to quality ratio.

It is safe to say that Telmo Rodríguez has the reputation of being one of the pioneers and best "driving winemakers", that is, winemakers that travel to different areas to produce wines from the same harvest, using only native varieties from their original regions, apart from paying special attention to the recovery of abandoned vineyards. Currently, Telmo Rodríguez, who enjoys being a winemaker more than an oenologist, is known in the wine industry for being one of the promoters of Spanish winemaking.
Pictures and situation Telmo Rodríguez
In Toro, the red wines are mainly made with the Tinta de Toro grape variety, planted on soils of fluvial origin by the influence of the Duero River and its tributaries, grown on poor, sandy and dry soils the further away you move from the river. Toro offers powerful wines, well bodied, flavourful, complex, and tannic. Although on a smaller scale, the region also produces white wines using the Verdejo and Malvasía varieties. Since the ´80’s, Toro has experienced a revival in its wines, thanks to a new generation of highly skilled winemakers and the installation of many big names in the region, such as Pintia, a winery belonging to the Vega Sicília group, or Teso la Monja, part of Sierra Cantabria.
