About Château Pégau Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Lône
Château Pégau Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Lône is a white wine coupage made with Clairette, Bourboulenc, Garnacha Blanca and Ugni Blanc. It is made by Domaine du Pégau and is classified as an AOC Côtes du Rhône white wine.
The Domaine du Pégau winery works to champion the traditional styles of Provence and the Rhone. It is considered one of the main producers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. They have 70 hectares spread over 11 different vineyards, which allows them to make a wide range of wines. The average age of their strains is about 40 years. The grapes are harvested when fully ripe, and vinified without adding commercial yeasts.
The Château Pégau Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Lône vines are planted in clayey and stony soils. The strains are between 35 and 60 years old. The harvest is carried out manually to take the most care of the grape and to ensure it reaches the winery as in tact as possible.
When the Château Pégau Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Lône vintage reaches the winery, it is directly pressed and placed in stainless steel tanks. It is then cleaned by cold racking and fermented at a controlled temperature. It ferments slowly for about 12 days and cold stabilises. It is then bottled.
Only about 12,000 bottles of Château Pégau Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Lône are produced.
