Château La Nerthe Châteauneuf du Pape

This same period of time was when Chateau la Nerthe was born, an estate that has always received the best care in order to offer exquisite reds and whites that are complex and beautifully balanced.

The estate, owned by the family who have specialised in wines and coffees for the Richard restaurants since 1985, produces remarkable wines like this Château La Nerhe Châteauneuf du Pape. A coupage of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault from vineyards that grow on slopes and on sandy-clay soils covered by a layer of “galets” (large, round, weathered stones). These vines are over 40 years old and are organically cultivated and harvested by hand when they reach optimum ripeness. After the grapes are sorted, they are fermented for almost 4 weeks with periodic pumping over and punching down and temperature controlled fermentation. The wine is then racked into oak vats for malolactic fermentation and finally aged in large French oak barrels and casks for 12 months.
