Cavarodes Arbois Trousseau de Messagelin is a natural red wine made with the Trousseau variety by Domaine des Cavarodes in AOC Arbois, in Jura (France).
Domaine des Cavarodes is the project started by Etienne Thiebaud in 2007 in the village of Cramans, in the northern part of Jura. With only 4.5 hectares of vineyards, its wines stand out for their incredible purity. Small natural cuvées that reflect the terroir they come from on both sides of the Loue River and the other side of Arbois.
Cavarodes Arbois Trousseau de Messagelin comes from very old vines located in the commune of Arbois, near the village of Montigny les Arsures. Vines that reach 115 years of age on soils rich in iron and red marl and which are grown organically without the use of chemicals that could damage the natural balance of the terroir.
In the cellar, the Cavarodes Arbois Trousseau de Messagelin grapes undergo a semi-carbonic maceration after careful destemming. Then the wine matures in old foudres for 12 months and finally it is bottled without clarifying, without filtering and without adding sulphites.
Fruit of the oldest and largest appellation in France, AOC Jura, Cavarodes Arbois Trousseau de Messagelin comes from the intention of showing all the richness of a fertile land in its purest state.
Cavarodes Arbois Trousseau de Messagelin 2019 is a smooth red wine with aromas of red fruit, notes of mushrooms and hints of spice. On the palate, it’s delicate, supple and well structured. A round wine with a fleshy texture, crisp acidity and a flavorsome finish with hints of undergrowth.
