About Breca
Breca is a great red wine from Calatayud (Aragon), produced by Bodegas Breca.
This winery, located in Munébrega (Zaragoza), is part of the renowned Grupo Jorge Ordoñez, a group which owns several wineries in different Spanish regions. Jorge Ordoñez is known for making great, renowned references such as la línea Tarimain Alicante.
Breca is 100% made from Garnacha Tinta. The grapes come from old vines planted between 1925 and 1945, on the tops of hills at 900m, on clay soils of decomposed slate.
The vines grow under a dry continental climate, with large temperature contrasts and frost during the winter months.
The development of Breca starts with a vintage and manual selection on tables. Subsequently a fermentation occurs in tanks of stainless steel before a maceration of between ten and twelve days at a temperature of 26-28C is performed.
Finally Breca is aged in oak for about 12-14 months.
