Bellevoye Bleu Grain Fin is a French triple malt whisky, exhibiting a brilliant pale gold hue with straw-like reflections, captivating from the first impression with aromas of malted grains, wildflower honey, and delicate white blossoms, enveloped in vanilla and ripe fruit. On the palate, it reveals a fresh and fluid character, with a silky and creamy texture that gives way to yellow fruits, baked apple, and toasted almonds, accompanied by spiced bread and golden caramel. A hint of new oak and sweet spices adds depth without compromising elegance. The finish, long and refreshing, leaves a pleasant trail of vanilla, fine wood, and ripe fruit.

What happens when a country accustomed to discussing wine decides to venture into whisky production? Something akin to Bellevoye might emerge: a bottle born from the liberty of doing things their own way, with a French flair and without seeking approval. Behind this triple malt lies the personal journey of Jean Moueix and Alexander Sirech, who traversed distilleries and sampled whiskies until they discovered the style they were after: elegant, subtle, smooth, and balanced.

The narrative becomes even more intriguing with the introduction of Olivier Dumont, cellar master of Bellevoye and a man with a background in viniculture before specialising in spirits. Perhaps this is why the project has a particular sensitivity towards wood, balance, and time. Their whiskies originate from three malts sourced from northern France, Alsace, and Cognac, which age initially for three to eight years before being combined in a blend that will require another year in Allier oak barrels, the same that have aged great Bordeaux wines.
 
Bellevoye Bleu Grain Fin Triple Malt embodies this concept: a French whisky of gentle character, crafted from blending and refined with patience. The maturation in French oak, lightly toasted rather than charred, seeks that velvety texture and rounded sensation that makes it easy to enjoy, while the three malts provide layers and balance without turning the glass into a distillation lesson.
