About Alamos Malbec Rosé
If Argentinians are renowned for anything, it is their distinctive lifestyle. Any moment is a perfect opportunity to celebrate with friends! When that moment arrives—without catching you off guard—it's always advisable to have a bottle of Alamos Malbec at hand.
Since 1993, the Catena Zapata wineries have embraced this philosophy, resulting in a range of wines produced from the family's youngest vines, named after the poplar trees that protect these vineyards. However, do not let this youthfulness deceive you, as Catena Zapata boasts over a century of tradition. Where others see inexperience, Catena Zapata perceives potential. In the case of Álamos wines, this potential is found in the Cuyo region of Mendoza, at altitudes ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 meters. Here, at the foothills of the Andes, this winery discovers one of the most exceptional locations for grape cultivation. Translated as ‘Land of Deserts,’ Cuyo features an almost desert-like climate, with sparse vegetation and a significant temperature contrast between day and night. The presence of the Andes is also crucial, acting as a barrier to the humid Pacific winds and providing meltwater, rich in minerals.
Alamos Malbec eschews grand pretensions and aspires to be an easy-drinking wine, where only the flavours, aromas, and textures of the Malbec stand out. By definition, this is Argentina's flagship variety, offering a broad spectrum of both aromatic and palate profiles. This is achieved through a simple yet high-quality production, with pre-fermentation macerations and very light ageing (of just five months) in French oak barrels.
The Alamos collection emerges as the second wine of Catena Zapata. Yet, do not be misled by appearances, as its quality and taste place it on par with the winery's premier wines.

2022 | Alamos Malbec Rosé 2022 is the perfect wine to drink without too much thought. With friends or in any situation where you don’t need to focus the senses. Just let yourself be carried away by its fruity aromas, where citrus and red fruits are mixed. Creamy notes overflow on the palate, with structured, powerful and silky tannins, where a fruity heart is still perceived. |

2021 | Alamos Malbec 2021 is a fresh, bright raspberry-coloured rosé, which is very complex, deep and rich on the palate and nose. The experience begins with aromas of cherries, watermelon, grapefruit and herbs. The palate is rich and fruity, creamy, and medium-bodied. Flavoursome. Really quite something. |
