Characteristics Abel Mendoza Tempranillo Grano a Grano
Abel Mendoza Tempranillo Grano a Grano is an organic, single-variety Tempranillo red wine produced by the Abel Mendoza winery in the D.O.Ca. Rioja.
The Abel Mendoza Monge winery was founded in 1988 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra (Rioja Alta) by Abel and his wife Maite Fernández. With only 16 hectares of land, they produce rare, unusual and highly sought after wines. Away from the media, their wines are the result of hard work in the vineyards and the interpretation of the different soils where the vines grow.
Specifically, Abel Mendoza Tempranillo Grano a Grano comes from the fruits of different plots in the same town as the winery. A town with a long history of winemaking where the couple uses ecological and respectful agriculture, taking into account the natural balance of the strain and the terroir. The harvest is carried out manually.
In the winery, the Abel Mendoza Tempranillo Grano a Grano grapes are carefully destemmed by hand. Winemaking begins in stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels. Finally, it ages for 18 months in French oak barrels, before being bottled.
Abel Mendoza Tempranillo Grano a Grano is a red wine where the freshness of the fruit is balanced with the intensity of the barrel. A fresh, balanced and very elegant experience.
Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product
Abel Mendoza Tempranillo Grano a Grano 2016 is a fruity red wine with intense aromas of ripe fruit, truffle and vanilla. The barrel gives a balsamic and smoked background. On the palate it is dry, balanced and structured. The balanced acidity gives it freshness on the mid-palate.
