Von Winning Deidesheimer Mäushöhle Riesling starts life in Maushöhle, the oldest vineyard in the town of Deidesheim, which is where it gets its name. This site, home to about 30 vineyards, faces southeast with an altitude between 125 and 200 metres above sea level. However, the real beauty of this area, with its stony and calcareous soils, is its proximity to the Haart Mountains, just to the west, which protect the vines from the wind.
