About Vizcarra Senda del Oro

Vizcarra Roble Senda de Oro is a red wine from the D.O Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Vizcarra.

This winery was founded in 1991, located in Mambrilla de Castrejón (Burgos).

Vizcarra Roble Senda de Oro is entirely made of Tinta Fina (Tempranillo). The grapes originate from the estate Senda de Oro, the vines are 15 years old and planted on slopes and pruned by the goblet method.

Furthermore, the climate is a continental, this is translated in to large temperature differences between day and night, contributing to a better riper grape.

The harvest is realised by hand and transported in 15-20kg kg containers to a winery where the grapes undergo a second selection process.

Once at the winery, the must is fermented for 14 days at a 27ºC, with 3 daily pump overs.

Subsequently, after the second fermentation in barrel, the wine is aged for 7 months in French and American oak barrels.

2023

Vizcarra Senda del Oro 2019 is a succulent red wine exuding aromas of red fruit harmoniously melded with well-integrated oak notes. On the palate, it is vibrant, seamless, and embracing. It reveals a delightfully fruity progression and culminates in a graceful and refined finish.
2018
Vizcarra Senda del Oro 2018 is a succulent red wine brimming with notes of raspberries and strawberries against a toasted backdrop. On the palate, it is robust, pristine, and exceedingly flavorsome. A wine with a smooth flow, profoundly fruity with a delicate and congenial finish. 
 

 
2017 Vizcarra Roble Senda de Oro 2017 is a fluid red wine that is light and juicy. In this vintage the aromas of ripe red fruit stand out, with light spicy notes and toast from the short aging. On the palate it is lively, juicy and lingering.
2014 Wide and full-flavoured. Unctuous and sensations of red fruit with roasted undertones. Well-integrated tannins and good acidity. Long finish. Structured and elegant.

2013

In the mouth it is pleasant, structured and comprehensive, with a clear prominence of red and black fruit. It has well integrated tannins and excellent acidity. Long finish.

The nose has high aromatic intensity. Aromas of red fruit accompanied by toasted aromas from the oak and lactic notes.
2012 After a very pleasant and wide attack, this wine coats the mouth with abundant notes of red and black fruit. It is well-structured and shows well-integrated tannins as well as a great acidity which makes it fresher. Long finish with a nice persistence.

Intense cherry colour with maroon-nearly-violet edges. Clean and bright. It shows abundant tears.

Intense and crispy nasal aromas with abundant notes of red fruit and aromas provided during its ageing in oak: sweet spices and soft toasted hints, along with nice milky notes.

2010 Very tasty wine that coats the mouth with of lots of notes of fruit and creamy milky aromas from the beginning. Its tannins are mellow. Very balanced and well bodied wine with a long finish.
A sweet, very pleasant and easy-drinking wine.

Intense cherry maroon colour with violet edges. High robe. Clean and bright wine with abundant tears.

Its intense notes of red fruit are released along with many creamy aromas provided by the wood: sweet spices (vanilla and cinnamon) and many soft toasted and milky notes.
