About Sierra Cantabria Garnacha
Sierra Cantabria Garnacha is a red wine made by Bodega Sierra Cantabria in the D.O. Rioja with Grenache grapes from the winery's vineyards planted in 1927 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
The harvest is carried out by hand, and the bunches go through a double selection. First in the vineyard and then upon arrival in the winery.
The grapes are destemmed and then macerate with their skins on for 21 days, with daily pump-overs, the frequency of which is reduced in the final days. The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 23ºC with native yeasts from the winery's vineyards. It ages for 12 and a half months in French oak barrels, 15% new and 85% one year old.

2011 | Fresh and fruity on the palate. Very balanced tannins and a medium acidity. Spices, coffee, liquorice. Good intensity and an appetising finish. Pretty picota red colour with a maroon rim. Intense nose. Red fruit, plums, toasted notes, cinnamon and lactic nuances. |
