About Sierra Cantabria Cuvée

Sierra Cantabria Cuvée is a red wine from the D.O. La Rioja produced by the Sierra Cantabria winery. This is a single-variety Tempranillo wine, which is the region’s most characteristic grape.

The grapes used to make Sierra Cantabria Cuvée come from the winery's own vineyards located in Laguardia and Labastida.
Their average age is around 30 years old and the soils they grow in are clay-calcareous. The vines are treated exclusively with organic fertiliser.
The harvest is carried out manually. The clusters go through a double selection process: in the vineyard and in the winery.
Sierra Cantabria Cuvée is made according to the traditional methodology. Firstly, a cold pre-fermentation maceration takes place over 48 hours followed by a post-fermentation maceration with their skins for 20 days.
During fermentation, there are two pump-overs every day. During maceration, the amount of pumping-over is gradually reduced to one every two days.
Sierra Cantabria Cuvée ages for 12 months in Bordeaux barrels made from American oak (60%) and French oak (40%).

This wine is best enjoyed when decanted half an hour before serving.
