Tasting notes Livio Felluga Sauvignon 2023
White wine Young.
Livio Felluga Sauvignon 2023 dazzles with its luminous straw-yellow hue and subtle green reflections, promising a vivacity that is fulfilled upon approaching the nose. Its aromas evoke the freshness of white melon, accompanied by the vibrant burst of citrus such as grapefruit, orange, and mandarin. In the background, delicate nuances of fresh herbs, pear, and a distinctive sweet pepper add layers to this olfactory experience. On the palate, it surprises with a freshness intertwined with the sweetness of ripe white fruit, providing perfect balance. Herbaceous notes stand out, along with a subtle mineral touch of flint at the finish. Recommending this wine is straightforward: its combination of freshness, complexity, and balance makes it an excellent choice for those seeking a white full of life and character.Pairing

About Livio Felluga Sauvignon
The grapes used to make Livio Felluga Sauvignon are harvested by hand during the first ten days of September. And once they reach the winery, the clusters are gently destemmed and allowed to macerate for a short time. They are then pressed to obtain the must that ferments in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures. The resulting wine is aged for six months with its fine lees in stainless steel tanks and it refines and rests in the bottle for a further two months in the winery before being sold.
Livio Felluga loved these lands that were abandoned during World War II. He spent his whole life working them with the aim of reviving viticulture because he believed that only bringing back quality cultivation would bring life back to Friuli. Felluga was right and saw his dream become a reality. Today he is thought of as the father of Friuli winemaking.

2018 | Livio Felluga Sauvignon Blanc 2018 is an intense and elegant white wine with prominent passion fruit, white melon, elderflower and orange blossom accompanied by citrus notes of grapefruit and lemons as well as spicy and balsamic touches. On the palate it is broad and balanced, with a fresh mid-palate that brings back the complexity from the nose with tropical and ripe fruit flavours. It is flavoursome with a balanced acidity, a subtle mineral note and a persistent finish. |
