About Livio Felluga Chardonnay
Livio Felluga Chardonnay is a single-variety Chardonnay white wine produced by the Livio Felluga winery, in the DOC Friuli Colli Orientali in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy.
Livio Felluga Chardonnay is made with manually harvested clusters from vineyards with loam and sandstone soils. The grapes are gently destemmed when they reach the winery to then undergo a short maceration. They are gently pressed and the must is clarified by decantation. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and under controlled temperatures.
The wine is aged with its lees for six months, bottled and left to rest for a couple more months to finish refining before going on sale.
The Livio Felluga winery has a long history of love and passion for Friuli. Livio Felluga returned to this area, which had been abandoned after World War II, and managed to revive viticulture. He is now considered to be the father of Friuli viticulture and his wines are among the best in Italy.

2016 | Livio Felluga Chardonnay 2016 is a white wine with an intense aromatic presence, with stand-out floral notes of orange blossom, jasmine and elderberry, accompanied by fruity notes of ripe apples, white peaches and tropical fruits like pineapple and papaya. On the palate it has a soft entrance with hints of pears and nuts, giving way to a velvety feel with a balsamic hue and a pleasant and long finish. |
