About Enrique Mendoza Pinot Noir
Enrique Mendoza Pinot Noir is a red wine from the D.O. Alicante made of Pinot Noir grapes from vineyards grown on the slope Cabezo de la Virgen de Villena (in the region of Alicante), following environmentally-friendly methods. This Pinot Noir wine is the result of a careful process and a very selected grape harvest conducted during the second half of September. The grapes are softly destemmed in order to keep the whole grape. The fermentation takes places in small stainless steel deposits. This wine is aged for 11 months in new and one-year-old French oak barrels from Allier.
2023 | Enrique Mendoza Pinot Noir 2023 unveils its charm with understated elegance, showcasing its vibrancy and freshness. On the nose, it unfurls scents of red currants and blueberries, interwoven with the delicate floral whispers of violets and a hint of minerality. On the palate, its light body glides with poise, as the nuances of ripe red fruits are enhanced by a gentle toastiness, a wisp of smoke, and a sweet vanilla finish. This red wine is a sophisticated choice for those in search of subtlety and harmony. |
2022 | Enrique Mendoza Pinot Noir 2022 is a smooth red wine, with a medium-depth colour of ruby and garnet. The nose is very complex and varied, with aromas of fresh fruit, red berries (currant, blueberry) and mineral touches. This latter feature is maintained on the palate, where notes of toast, smoke and vanilla also appear. Fine and smooth, with juicy and delicious tannins. |
2011 | In the mouth, it shows a delicate and tasty mid-palate, with a refreshing and direct acidity and a subtle tannic sensation. It is a medium-bodied red wine with a nice finish and a very marked fruity persistence. Ruby red colour with light maroon edge. Intense and bright. Thin tear. Medium intensity. Great load of fruit with very ripe red fruit, redcurrant and raspberry reminiscences which give way to floral notes, violets and fine toasted hints. Elegant mineral background with some herbaceous and balsamic touches. |
2009 | Delicate and tasty on the palate with a direct and refreshing acidity and fine tannins. This red wine is medium-bodied, with a correct finish and persistence marked by fruity sensations. Ruby red colour with pale maroon edges. Intense and bright. Fine tears on the glass. Medium-intensity with a high concentration of fruit. Very ripe red fruit (redcurrents and raspberries) gives way to floral notes (violets) and fine toasted notes. Elegant mineral overtones with a touch of something herbal and balsamic. |
2008 | A well bodied and bulky varietal wine from Alicante. It has a good attack and a long mid palate full of fleshy and flavourful notes of fruit and well integrated wooden aromas. It shows polished tannins and a lingering finish that leaves an aftertaste full of spicy notes of fruit.
A very nice and tasty wine. Very intense and bright, dark cherry red colour with dense tears. Complex, intense and very varietal aromas with a great load of very ripe fruit. When it opens up, these aromas are mixed with fragrant notes of flowers, good toasted hints, smoked touches and sweet spices on its elegant mineral background with balsamic and herbal touches. Very harmonious bouquet. |
2007 | A red wine of E. Mendoza with a voluminous attack and a velvety mid palate. This wine fills the mouth with very well integrated and balanced, tasty and fleshy notes of fruit and notes provided by the oak during its ageing. Nice tannins. Very nice and persistent finish. Bright and intense dark cherry colour with a medium-high robe. Dense and slow-falling tear. Very good and highly complex aromatic intensity. Initially, lots of ripe wild fruits are noticed along with some notes of forest herbs. When it opens up, elegant floral notes are shown along with fine toasted notes, smoked and spicy touches and hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Subtle mineral and balsamic background. |
2006 | Large attack. Silky and tasty palate, full of aromatic nuances. Pleasant tannins. Ruby red with high robe and garnet and brick colour reflections typical of its ageing in oak. Intense and complex aromas. Abundant ripe fruit, especially red, along with a great minerality. Floral notes (white and purple flowers), accompanied by delicate notes of toast, smoke and vanilla provided by the oak during the ageing. |
2004 | With good structure and tannin with a nice juicy and joyous that gives it to live. Ruby red high cape with garnet hues and tile of his own time in oak. Aroma of ripe fruit, red berries and currants and blueberries are interwoven with great minerality and notes of red stone or graphite. We also reminded white and purple flowers, all well accompanied by fine notes of toast, smoke and vanilla acquired in aging. |
