Red wine Aged in wood Respectful agriculture. 14 months in French oak barrels.

About Enrique Mendoza Estrecho Monastrell
"The best wine is in the best vineyard". This is Bodegas Mendoza's motto, 100% devoted to the production of high quality wines with an exquisite flavour, taking care of all the variables implied. On the one hand, the vineyards, whose level of water stress is controlled by means of a precise winemaking with sensors. On the other hand, the commitment with the environment using natural fertilisers and the growing of the wines without pesticides, weed-killers or any chemical substance which may alter the intrinsic qualities of the plants and therefore, of the wine. The vineyards are grown in a natural and healthy way in sandy terroirs, poor in organic matter, what allows a ripening of the grapes with minimum levels of stress and exhaustion. The ageing of this wine takes place in French oak barrels for 14 months.

2005 | The palate shows great intensity of flavor. Good content of fruit with good structure and a lively acidity and fresh. Unctuous and meaty. Very long finish. Intense cherry red color and bright, with thin tear. Intense aromas of very ripe black fruit that appears along with quality wood. Memories of toast and floral with a touch mineral (underbush). |
