Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Sauvignon Blanc is a single-variety Sauvignon Blanc white wine made by the Cuatro Rayas winery, in the D.O. Rueda in Valladolid, Spain.
 
Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Sauvignon Blanc is made from a special selection of Sauvignon Blanc grapes from vineyards over 40 years old. This wine serves as a tribute to Ángel Calleja, the winemaker who led the winery for 40 vintages, hence the name of the wine. And who better than Elena M. Oyagüe, who was the right-hand woman of the honoured oenologist for more than twenty years, to be in charge of making this evocative white wine.
 
Angel Calleja was part of the first class of oenologists at the Escuela de la Vid de Madrid and joined the winery as technical director in 1975. Calleja was the man behind the transformation of Cuatro Rayas, where he spent more than 40 years. To commemorate this, they created the Cuarenta Vendimias range, wines made through a meticulous selection process that are full of complexity and nuances.

Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is a fragrant white wine, presenting a pale yellow hue, distinguished by its highly aromatic and fruity profile. The bouquet reveals white blossoms and spearmint, underpinned by a fruity backdrop. On the palate, it is invigorating and tart, brimming with citrus fruit flavors.

Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine with aromas of citrus and tropical fruits on the nose accompanied by notes of white flowers and balsamic nuances. On the palate it is complex and full of nuances. A long and persistent wine with a fresh and fruity touch.
