The wine-producing area of Emilia-Romagna is one of the largest in Italy. With its 20 Designations of Origin it is widely-known for its Lambrusco, and can boast some of the oldest vines in the country. The large area it covers makes for great diversity between climate and land, leading to wines with very different characteristics. Malvasia and Lambrusco are the grapes most frequently used in wine-making.
