About Tarima Monastrell
Tarima is a red wine from D.O. Alicante produced by Bodegas Volver in Pinoso, a town in Alicante with a great wine tradition.
The winery was founded in 2004 by Rafael Cañizares, a renowned oenologist in the area of La Mancha, and Jorge Ordoñez, a well-known imported of Spanish wines.
All its vineyards are planted in vase-shape, so agriculture is carried out traditionally with no machinery.
This wine is a single-variety of Monastrell (100%) from vineyards planted on calcareous soils, located at 650 metres of altitude and with an average age of 30 years.
The harvest is carried out manually, and the wine is refined for half a year in American oak barrels.
2022 | Tarima Monastrell 2022 beckons us to delve into an orchard of sun-ripened red fruits, where cherries and blackberries pirouette amidst glimmers of toffee and a gentle whisper of coffee. Beneath a canopy of balsamic notes and mineral echoes, this youthful and exuberant wine unveils a vivacity that caresses the taste buds. Its velvety texture and fruit-forward nature unfurl into a rich and lingering taste experience, leaving an imprint as enduring as the memory of a summer sunset. |
|
2019 | Tarima Monastrell 2019 is a succulent red wine brimming with aromas of stewed fruit, hints of licorice, and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is dense, expansive, and flavorsome. This wine offers a graceful yet enveloping journey through the senses. The finish is extensive and lingering.

|
2017 | Tarima 2017 is an intense and fruity red wine. Once again, this vintage shows how well the Mediterranean climate benefits the Monastrell variety, letting it show all its opulence and expressiveness.
2016 | Tarima 2016 expresses all the fruity character provided by the Monastrel variety in a Mediterranean climate like the one in Alicante. Its refining in barrels for 6 months gives it balsamic aromas that combine perfectly with the ripe red fruit. A must wine in terms of quality-pleasure.
2011 | In the mouth, it shows a powerful, fleshy and full-bodied attack and a silky and tasty mid-palate, with plenty of volume, a god acidity and ripe tannins. Balanced and expressive. Long finish with a notable persistence. Within its range of price it does not have many competitors. Beautiful, intense, lively cherry red colour, with maroon edge. Clean and bight. Aromas of red fruit which becomes black, ripe and juicy as it is opened. Intense toasted and spiced hints complete this clean, high intensity and well-defined nose. |
