About Ramón Bilbao Edición Limitada
Ramón Bilbao Edición Limitada Crianza is a red wine from the D.O. Rioja, crafted by Bodegas Ramón Bilbao, a winery established in 1924 by D. Ramón Bilbao Murga. However, Don Ramón had already been producing and selling his wines since 1896 in a small winery located on Las Cuevas Street in Haro, a town renowned for having one of the highest concentrations of wineries in the world. The winery is situated on the outskirts of Haro, one of the most privileged viticultural regions for vine cultivation. The climate in this area is moderately continental, influenced by the Cantabrian Sea, with rainfall occurring throughout the year.
This wine is a single-varietal tempranillo sourced from 75 hectares of vineyards located in Rioja Alta, near the Ebro River. The vineyards are planted on heterogeneous, shallow, well-drained soils, experiencing water stress at critical times.
Regarding the production, after selecting the finest bunches, the grapes undergo artisanal fermentation in wooden vats at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine is aged for 14 months in new French oak barrels from Allier and American oak barrels from Virginia, followed by an additional 10 months in the bottle.
We recommend decanting it for at least one hour before serving.
