Ideal for everyday enjoyment, yet perfect for leaving a lasting impression. Indeed, Ramón Bilbao Crianza is a classic from the D.O. Ca. Rioja that will never go out of style. With over a century of history, this company was founded in 1924 by Ramón Bilbao Murga, who already had considerable experience in the wine industry after managing a small winery. Today, Ramón Bilbao cultivates a total of 75 hectares spread across various villages in the D.O.Ca. Rioja, including Haro, Briones, Abalos, San Vicente de Sonsierra, Cihuri, Anguciana, and Cuzcurrita del Río Tirón. These are complemented by several plots owned by local winegrowers who consistently uphold the same quality standards. In all these plots, the most cultivated variety is tempranillo, an indigenous grape of the region, thriving on the rich clay, alluvial, and calcareous soils that characterize this denomination. Throughout the production process of Ramón Bilbao Crianza, both the winemaker Rodolfo Bastida and his team engage in environmentally friendly practices.
 
Once optimal ripeness is achieved, Ramón Bilbao Crianza is harvested and brought to the winery, where the grapes are selected and destemmed. The plots are processed separately, with each batch undergoing alcoholic fermentation in distinct vats. Following this process, the different batches of Ramón Bilbao Crianza are blended and transferred to American oak barrels, where they will rest for over a year. The finishing touch comes with an additional eight months in the bottle, allowing Ramón Bilbao Crianza to achieve perfect balance.

2019 Ramón Bilbao Crianza 2019 is a red wine with aromas of black and red fruit on the nose accompanied by floral nuances and dried fruit peel. There are also pleasant notes of sweet spices from its barrel aging. The palate is juicy, reaffirming its fruity and slightly spicy character. A red wine that is very easy to drink with a pleasant volume and precise acidity.
2017

Ramón Bilbao Crianza 2017 is a supple red wine suffused with scents of red and black fruit, floral nuances, and hints of dried fruit. On the palate, it is robust, fruit-forward, and glyceric. The wine features refined tannins and seamlessly integrated acidity. The finish is enduring, adorned with spicy undertones.
2015 Ramón Bilbao Crianza 2015 exhibits a more pronounced fruit-forward character than its predecessors. It possesses a medium-bodied profile and a classically balanced style, harmoniously blending spicy and fruity aromas—a quintessential Rioja Crianza.
2012 The taste is fresh and harmonious. It is very fruity. A medium passage with good acidity and tannins present.

Dark cherry red, almost garnet.

On the nose, there are notes of wood. Coco and pepper appear on a nice background of black fruits with balsamic.
2011 A very balanced, medium-bodied Rioja wine. Very tasty, covering the palate in fruit with a slighty alcoholic touch. Smooth and silky texture. Good acidity and a long finish of good persistence.

Not very intense ruby colour with maroon reflections. Clean and very bright with fine tears on the glass.

Correct intensity, with aromas of red and black fruit intermixed with oak, toast, cocoa and coffee. Elegant balsamic background.
2010 A highly balanced, medium-bodied Rioja wine with a tasty mid palate. The notes of fruit are noticed again along with a light touch of liquor. Long, mellow and silky mid palate. Good acidity and long and persistent finish. An easy-drinking and pleasant wine.

2009 A very balanced, full-bodied Rioja wine with a very tasty and serious mid palate. The notes of fruit with a light touch of liquor are felt again wrapped in very creamy aromas. Long, soft and silky mid palate with an excellent acidity and a long finish with a good persistence.  An easy-drinking and pleasant wine.

Intense red cherry colour with almost scarlet reflections. Very bright and clean wine with abundant thin tears.

Very good aromatic intensity. Its very expressive notes of black fruit and creamy oak get mixed with strong toasted notes, cocoa and coffee. Elegant balsamic and slightly mineral background.
2008 Very tasty wine, with a velvety and soft mid palate. Its notes of ripe fruit are released along with very well integrated harmonious toasted arômas and with very creamy hints. Good acidity. Lightly astringent wine with a good finish that leaves spicy and balsamic feelings which provide a great final freshness.
An easy-drinking, pleasant and correct wine.

Red cherry colour with thin violet edges. Clean and bright. Abundant tears that stain the glass.

Its intense aromas of ripe black fruit dominate the nose. Its notes of sweet spices, elegant toasted hints and chocolate and milky touches round out this wine.
2007

It is fresh and friendly in the palate. The clear flavours of noble wood assembled with ripe fruit noticed in the nose appear again in the palate. Tasty, balanced and velvety mid palate. Lingering and spicy aftertaste. Long finish.

In the nose, this wine offers intense aromas of ripe wild berries accompanied by balsamic notes, with a subtle background of vanilla, pepper and bay leaf.
2006 It is fresh and pleasant in the mouth with a noticeable texture where the smokey and fruit assembled nuances reappear. Long and enfolding finish.

Bright cherry red color with a good layer.
