About Les Cousins L'Inévitable
There are cousins who are like brothers. People who have shared so many experiences since they were little that have become an important part of their lives. Marc and Adrià Pérez, cousins of the same age, grew up together and have also been trained in the world of wine at the same time in wineries in Priorat, Bordeaux, Rhone, Uruguay and South Africa. A very interesting journey that has given them enough knowledge and confidence to start their own project, Les Cousins Marc & Adrià (the cousins), in Porrera (Priorat) in 2007. There they work in a very personal way to achieve wines with their own identity and designed in a very unique way. Authentic signature wines that vindicate the terroir and the vines that have watched them grow.
But even though their wines are part of the D.O.Q. Priorat, Les Cousins L'Inévitable remains outside the denomination. The main reason is that these two winemakers wanted to create a groundbreaking wine, in which juiciness and freshness stand out. A red wine with a low alcohol content for a local wine and which, due to its 12.5% vol. cannot be included in the D.O.Q. Priorat. An original blend of Grenache, Merlot and the white Viognier variety in equal parts. The grapes are cultivated using traditional agriculture, and when they reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested and taken straight to the winery. There the grapes are selected and destemmed and then the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine is aged for 8 months in cement tanks.
Through Les Cousins L'Inévitable, Marc and Adrià break with the rules set out by the DOQ Priorat. A fresh, elegant and very curious wine that, without losing its Priorat character, reminds us of those small moments when life feels easy and worry-free. These two cousins will likely have experienced many of these moments.
