About Fincas de Ganuza Reserva

Fincas de Ganuza Reserva is a red wine from the Rioja produced by the Remirez de Ganuza winery. The winery is located in the center of Samaniego (Alava).

Fincas de Ganuza Reserva is made from Tempranillo (90%) and a small percentage of Graciano (10%). The grapes come from old vines aged between 25 and 40 years.

Fincas de Ganuza Reserva begins with a manual harvest in boxes of 12kg. In the winery the grapes remain for about 24 hours in cold storage at a temperature of 4-6 ° C.

Grapes subsequently undergo selection tables where each cluster is separated. In this way the wine is made solely from destemmed bunches, ie the upper most bunches exposed to sunlight and therefore more mature.

As for the wine, fermentation occurs in small stainless steel tanks and French oak vats of 7000 liters.

Finally, Fincas de Ganuza Reserva is aged for 25 months in new American (20%) and French oak barrels (80%).

2015

Fincas de Ganuza Reserva 2015 is a richly flavored red wine. Olfactorily, it is robust, exhibiting a wide spectrum of nuances ranging from red berries to creamy undertones, with layers of jammy fruit and mineral accents. On the palate, it is expansive and full-bodied. Its texture is silky and its presence lingers. The acidity is delicate and well-balanced. The finish is extensive and invigorating.
2012 Fincas de Ganuza Reserva 2012 is a mature, complex and meaty red wine. This vintage highlights its aromatic delicacy, with elegant aromas of ripe red fruit, and spicy notes on a very clean toasted base note. On the palate it is corpulent, with volume and a rather fresh finish.
2008 Good entry, powerful, juicy and meaty. Velvety and warm with hints of black fruit and oak step. Good acidity. Long and enveloping finish.

Cherry medium-high layer with violet hues. Intense and clean tear.

Intensely aromatic. Presence of ripe black fruit with spicy and toasted. Lactic touches on a cool background.
2007 This wine is powerful, rich and meaty. It has a soft velvet touch and a good balance between the fruit and the aging. At the end it has many aromatic memories, from dark berries to fine balsamic notes including roasted and cocoa hints.

Bright cherry red in colour, high intensity with ruby hints in the rim. Fine and intense tears that fall slowly as they gently stain the glass.

Intense, pervasive and complex aromas. Powerful ripe black fruit aromas with a background of sweet, balsamic and smoked spices. It has notes of a creamy integrated oak.
2006 Delectable and well-structured with high-quality, yet pronounced tannins. Fincas de Ganuza is a sophisticated wine brimming with fruitiness. It exhibits roasted notes, vanilla, balsamic hints, and red fruits.

Exquisite ruby red hue. Medium to high intensity with delicate, slowly descending legs.

On the nose, the aromas are potent. Nuances from the oak aging process are evident, alongside fresh fruit scents. One can discern whispers of spices and vanilla.
2005 Great wine with a wide attack that coats the mouth with notes of very ripe fruit, jam, with lots of creamy spices and great balsamic aromas. Very tasty, slightly sweet and delicious wine with a good structure and polished tannins. Very nice long and persistent, finish.

Intense cherry red colour with deep red edges. Clean and bright wine with a medium-high robe and dense elegant tears.

Intense and complex aromas, with a good load of ripe black fruit wrapped with lots of spicy nuances. When it opens up, very elegant toasted notes with lots of cocoa, coffee and some notes of leather, tobacco and a great balsamic background.
2003 In mouth has good input, tasty, spicy tannins alive. Featuring a long finish.

Cherry color with a good evolution on the edge that recalls the Gran reservas from Rioja.

The nose of ripe red fruit aroma, roasted alive tannins, minty notes and feelings of coffee and chocolate.
