About Aseginolaza & Leunda Camino de Auritz
On the slopes of Muruzabal (Navarra, Spain), where the land holds centuries-old secrets, a red wine is born, infused with the relentless curiosity of its creators. Jon Aseginolaza and Pedro Leunda, Basque friends, born in the same vintage year (1979), biologists by profession and explorers of old vineyards, found in garnacha the guiding thread of their Navarrese adventure, reviving plots that seemed dormant and breathing life back into them with absolute respect.
Aseginolaza & Leunda stands for passion, tradition, and minimal intervention. From pruning to harvest, everything is done by hand, with spontaneous fermentations and ageing in used French oak barrels. Their attentive eye on the terroir and patience with the grape allow them to craft wines that speak of place and time, wines that reflect the unique personality of each plot.
Aseginolaza & Leunda Camino de Auritz emanates from two micro-parcels of old vines, dry-farmed, where the garnacha slowly ripens between 445 and 460 metres above sea level. Fermentation with whole clusters, lightly foot-trodden, using indigenous yeasts and careful handling during pump-overs, preserves the grape's natural energy. After nine months in old French oak barrels, the wine is bottled unfiltered, naturally clarified, ready to display all the elegance, freshness, and minerality of its origin.
Each glass of Aseginolaza & Leunda Camino de Auritz offers delicate red fruit, herbal nuances, and a vibrant tension that piques curiosity on the palate. Its fine tannins and freshness make it perfect to accompany autumn dishes, white meats, gentle stews, or simply to enjoy in a moment of calm, celebrating the dedication of Jon and Pedro and the legacy of a terroir lovingly and respectfully restored.
