About Alceño Syrah Premium

The new vintage Alceño Syrah Premium is a red wine from D.O. Jumilla made by Bodegas Alceño, a winery founded in 1870 and, currently run by the fourth generation in the family.  
The climate of this area is typically continental but with influences of the Mediterranean, characterised by the sun and little rain. The winters are very cold and the summers are very warm; they have registered a great change in temperature between the seasons.
This wine is coupage of Syrah (85%) and Monastrell (15%) produced in their own vineyards.

As for the production, after a cold pellicular maceration at 10ºC for 4 days, the wine undergoes a fermentation with local yeast at 25ºC.
The maceration is for 6 days with a daily stirring. Afterwards, the wine is subject to a microoxygenation in order to fix the tannins before the malolactic fermentation begins.
Finally, Alceño Syrah Premium is racked and rests for 5 months in French and American oak barrels, where it rests for 6 months before being bottled.

2021

Alceño Syrah Premium 2021 is a richly concentrated red wine, boasting a deep purple hue. On the nose, it unveils notes of vanilla, violets, red fruits, and roasted nuances. The palate experiences a well-rounded texture, complemented by a delightfully zesty acidity. It culminates in a prolonged and robust finish.
2013 On the palate it is fruity with sweet tannins. Medium bodied.

Intense purple colour with violet edges.

On the nose there are ripe fruit notes accompanied by vanilla, cocoa and a high roast.
2012 Medium-bodied in the mouth with a very fruity flavour, some sweet tannins and a slightly acidic flavour wihich indicates very good ageing potential in the bottle.

Intense robe, intense purple colour with a violet rim.

Aromas of ripe fruit with tones of vanilla, cocoa and roasted notes.
