About Alceño 12 Cepas Viejas

Alceño 12 Cepas Viejas is a red wine from the D.O. Jumilla produced by Bodegas Alceño, a winery founded in 1870 by Roque Martínez, along with two partners. It became the first commercial winery in Jumilla. Currently, the fourth generation of the family is in charge of the winery.

The climate in this area is continentalised Mediterranean with a semi-arid character. It is characterised by scarce rainfall throughout the year and average temperatures ranging between 13°C and 18°C. This wine is a blend of monastrell and syrah from our oldest Monastrell vineyards planted on calcareous and stony soils, at an altitude of approximately 600 to 800 metres above sea level.

Alceño 12 Cepas Viejas aged for twelve months in new French oak barrels (50%) and American oak barrels (50%) to complete the maturation process.

2021

Alceño 12 Cepas Viejas 2021 is a juicy, purplish red wine with violet edges. The nose is intense, with red fruit aromas evolving towards menthol and violet. The palate is voluminous and full-bodied, with round, silky tannins. Well balanced. Long and persistent finish.
2012

The palate is very expressive and balanced. It is structured and full bodied. Ripe fruits are present.



Maroon with a cherry trim.

On the nose, there are aromas of ripe fruits with spices and oak. Notes of vanilla, cinnamon and pine nuts appear.
2011 Extremely expressive and very well balanced. A full-bodied wine.

Cherry colour.

Ripe fruit an new oak wood very well integrated with aromas of vanilla. Very elegant in the nose.
