About Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage
Thanks to the expertise, experience and knowledge of Moët & Chandon, one of the most glamorous and well-known champagne brands in the world, the Maison has produced 74 Grand Vintage since 1842. 74 exceptional vintages have resulted in a very expressive extra brut champagne. When we talk about Grand Vintage, we are talking about a champagne that is only made in exceptional vintages and only with grapes from that year. Therefore, each Grand Vintage is unique.
Created around the freedom of interpretation of Chef de Cave, Benoit Gouez, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage is made from the traditional Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier varieties. These are exceptional quality grapes that are thoroughly sorted for production following the champenoise method. After making a quality base wine, a second fermentation is carried out in the bottle. The aging time is around 7 years and, following disgorging, a dose of 5 g/litre of sugar is added and it remains in the cellar for a minimum of 6 months before being released for sale.
As the winery’s most select range, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage perfectly represents the intrinsic values of the Maison and its winemaker: originality, quality and personality.
2016 |
Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2016 is a champagne that unveils a subtle aromatic evolution, beginning with notes of toasted bread, cereals, and hazelnuts, which give way to nuances of gingerbread, marzipan, and barley sugar. In the background, persistent hints of plum, quince, orange blossom, and anise appear, adding complexity and freshness. On the palate, its rounded and elegant texture flows naturally, from a smooth and refined start to a vibrant finish, with citrus flashes that evoke the sweetness of clementine and the freshness of grapefruit. A harmonious and sophisticated journey. |
|
2015 | Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2015 is a champagne that faithfully reflects the character of its vintage. Aromas of pastries and almond marzipan accompany a subtle floral character with jasmine and elderflower. There are also fruity notes of white peach and watermelon. On the palate there are small and persistent bubbles that accompany a well-structured and complex sparkling wine, with floral and balsamic touches and a delicious almond finish. A precise, light and elegant champagne. | |
2009 | Thanks to an exceptional year that provided plenty of fruit, is a deep Champagne, which announces its color without any artificial and touches us by his brutal honesty. A wine that has invested with a robust serenity, generosity and a huge formal relaxed presence. It's a powerful wine whose maturity velvety appear immediately and forcefully between an exceptional creaminess. |
|
2003 | Deep and great structure, Grand Vintage 2003 is fleshy, broad and smooth. Its creamy sensuality - reminiscent of skin and cashmere - leads to a final warm licorice and grapefruit confit slightly acidic. Golden yellow. At the first notes of vanilla, almond and hazelnut aromas are followed by colorful, sun-ripened fruit - apricots, peaches, vines, nectarines and pears in syrup. Gradually, this generous fruitiness is enriched by soft spices like cinnamon, ginger bread and coffee. |
|
2002 | Harmonious palate with precise structure. Roundness and velvety texture of very ripe fruit. Tense and angular freshness of mandarins and rosé grapes. Refreshing and delightfully acid energy of the rhubarb and notes of redcurrant, quinine and citrus fruit. Bright gold colour with golden yellow touches. Complex and ripe bouquet. Firm ripening: toasted, sweet and dry at the same time. Notes of the harvest, frangipani, toasted almonds, malt, mocha and soft tobacco. Notes of juicy ripe fruit: peer, crystallized citrus fruit and fruits with pit (plums, nectarine and white peach) |
