About Werlitsch Vom Opok Morillon
Werlitsch Vom Opok Morillon is a natural Chardonnay white wine produced by Weingut Werlitsch in the Weinland Österreich denomination in Styria, Austria.
Morillon is the name given to the Chardonnay variety in Austria. To make the Werlitsch Vom Opok Morillon wine, they use bunches from plots cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture. The soils are composed of predominantly limestone marls (Opok) which results in wines with great finesse. The grapes are pressed and undergo a brief skin-contact maceration for a few days. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously and with native yeasts, and the resulting wine ages on its lees for two years in large oak vats and is bottled without adding sulphites.
Weingut Werlitsch is a family winery where Ewald Tscheppe creates wines that are full of life and have very different personalities and a complex and deep structure. This winemaker uses biodynamics to cultivate his vines that grow in different soils and microclimates. He works in harmony with nature and people under the philosophy of minimal intervention. Tsheppe produces authentic wines with character that are in themselves an experience that leave people impressed.
