About Victoria Torres Clarete

Victoria Torres Clarete is a rosé wine with a Claret-style coupage of the Negramoll, Listán Blanca and other red and white varieties from the area produced by the Matías i Torres winery under the DO La Palma in the Canary Islands .

 

Victoria Torres Clarete wine is made with bunches that come from two different plots which have volcanic soils and are located at between 370 and 500 meters’ altitude. The red and white varieties are harvested and vinified simultaneously. The bunches are macerated for a few days with a little stalk and the must is fermented with native yeasts in used 600-liter capacity French oak barrels.

 

The resulting wine is aged for between 10 and 11 months depending on the vintage, also in used French oak barrels with a capacity of 600 liters.

 

Victoria Torres Pecis makes simple and unadorned wines in Matías i Torres. She belongs to the fifth generation of this century-old family winery dating from 1885, and works its vineyards which are spread over the island of La Palma, in a magical environment recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve and where volcanic soils predominate which add character and personality to its careful and artisan productions.

 

Victoria is not a winemaker by training, but she has the profession in her veins, in the teachings her father transmitted to her and which have allowed her to understand the extraordinary environment where she works to obtain the most authentic side of the local varieties of the Canary Islands.
