Vermouth Cuppedia
Vermouth.
Vermouth Cuppedia is a red vermouth. The nose reveals aromas of candied fruit, mountain herbs, sweet spices, nuts, toasted notes and citrus. On the palate it is flavoursome and elegant, with good acidity and a fine bitterness.
About Vermouth Cuppedia
Mugwort, named after the Greek goddess Apollo’s sister, is a herb with multiple health benefits. This botanical, which was also used to protect against magic, has medicinal properties as a remedy for colds and flu, to prevent fluid retention, as well as helping with digestion and being an expectorant. It also regulates menstruation and purifies the blood.
This herb, which the Romans slipped into their sandals to prevent foot fatigue, is the basis of Vermouth Cuppedia. This Latin name, which means ‘delicacy’, is used for this infusion made by Bodegas Riojanas.
As the name suggests, the Artacho family makes this vermouth in Cenicero, a village in Logroño, La Rioja, where most of the Viura variety grapes used to make Vermouth Cuppedia come from. These grapes are used to make a white base wine, which will be macerated with various herbs, plants, spices, citrus peels and botanicals (cinchona, cloves, liquorice, cinnamon, cardamom and bitter chamomile). After maceration, Vermouth Cuppedia rests in oak barrels until bottling, where the aromas and characteristics develop. More or less medicinal, it would be worth making a note of Vermouth Cuppedia. A glass of this aperitif is bound to make you better!
